Drawn to the ease of an English country house, the owners sought a generous addition to the back of the home included a new mudroom and dining room, a fully reworked kitchen, and a layered mix of natural fibers, antiques, and traditional details throughout.

Walnut and sage-green beadboard, brass hooks, and red brick underfoot give the mudroom the feel of a room worth lingering in rather than passing through. In the dining room, a gilt mirror and inlaid mahogany sideboard hold the space with the quiet authority of pieces that look as though they'd always lived there. The kitchen holds the deepest notes-dark green cabinetry, honed soapstone, aged brass, and reeded-glass uppers in warm wood that punctuate the home's original character.
