Philosophy

THE STORY BEHIND THE STUDIO

The name Bridgehouse is rooted in a place that has long held special meaning.

Although Camille grew up in California, some of her most treasured memories were made at her family's cottage-style Tudor home in the English countryside, affectionately known as Bridgehouse. Named for its location beside the village bridge, it was more than a house—it was a place where generations gathered, conversations lingered around the table, traditions were passed down, and everyday moments became lifelong memories.

It was also where Camille first fell in love with the quiet beauty of English homes. Their charm wasn't found in perfection, but in their character—homes that had evolved over time, layered with history, natural materials, and the unique stories of the families who lived within them. They felt deeply personal, comfortably lived-in, and designed for real life.

Those early experiences continue to shape every project at Bridgehouse Studio. We believe the most meaningful homes do more than look beautiful. They support the rhythms of daily life, bring people together, and become the backdrop for the memories that matter most. They feel timeless not because they follow trends, but because they reflect the people who call them home.

About Camille

Camille Muhtar is the Principal and Creative Director of Bridgehouse Studio. A California native, Camille brings a relaxed sensibility to her work, balancing a love of classic architecture and character-filled homes with an appreciation for spaces that feel natural and welcoming.

Before pursuing interior design studies at Parsons School of Design at The New School, Camille earned a BSc with a double major in Economics and French and worked in business consulting. This background continues to inform her approach. Equal parts creative and pragmatic, she considers how each design decision supports her clients’ lifestyles and goals.

Camille brings a warm, thoughtful approach that makes even complex projects feel clear and collaborative, from the first conversation through final installation.

Camille is a member of the Good Future Design Alliance and the American Society of Interior Designers.
